#1. Take Ownership Of Your Life


Make the declaration that life is happening for you and not to you. Dropping the victim mindset is crucial for your success. Adopting the victor mindset that regardless of the obstacle, you will find a way to win. Victors see opportunity instead of obstacles.


Now that you’ve dropped the victim mindset, it’s time to create a successful system that will allow you to win, even when things aren’t perfect.


This starts with your reactions. You aren’t responsible for the things that happen around you, but you are responsible for how you react to them.


Your Actions (reactions) and decisions will dictate your 2021 success.


#2. Make Better Decisions


You are where you are right now because of the decisions you’ve made up to this point. If you don’t like your current location in life, make better decisions ~ different, more positive, powerful decisions, and your life will change.


We all heard the cliché that you are only one decision away from a different (better) life. Well, as corny as it sounds, it’s true.


Here is a question to ask yourself: Are my decisions aligned with the person I say that I want to be?


If yes, then you are crushing it and change nothing.


If no, make better decisions.


Tip: Make decisions from the perspective and mindset of your future self. Making decisions from where you are isn’t working. 


Ask yourself, what would my future ~ that amazing person I desire to be ~ do in this situation? 


#3. Health Is Wealth ~ I know. I know corny, but again TRUE


Making health a priority has never been more critical than it is in 2021. With all of the pandemic scariness, my guess is that you’ve been super focused on your immune system and keeping yourself healthy.


So, now that a virus has brought the importance of this to the forefront let’s use the momentum to make out healthy a priority.


I believe that real WEALTH is only achieved and maintained when you have all five of your foundational pillars in alignment and thriving.


Fitness (health and wellness) 

Food (nutrition) 

Finances (money) 

Friends (relationships) 

Faith (belief in something bigger than you)


The easiest and least confusing thing you can do to make your health a priority (see #2) is to make better decisions.


Ask yourself before you eat or drink anything: Does this fuel me or fail me?


If you make the fuel decision 80% of the time, you will win, and your health will improve. If you make the fuel decision 90% of the time, you will be in the best shape of your life. If you make the fuel decision 100% of the time, you’re a liar, and you’re boring, so we can’t hangout.


#4. Decide To Be Happy 


That’s right. I said, decide to be happy.


Revisit tip number one and read the sentence that says: Life happens for me and not to me.


Happiness is a decision.


It’s not an event, a thing, something that hides from you. It’s a decision.


The truth is this. We see the world as we are, not as it is! #damnjay #truthbomb


So if you see the world as an unhappy, dramatic, hostile place, then you’ve got some internal correcting to do.


I’m experiencing the same nonsense you are, but I’m reacting (see #1) to it much differently.


I control my reactions, actions, thoughts, and words, and therefore I control my happiness.


#5. Say Yes To Winning And No To Everything Else


90% of the things you are saying yes to are actually holding you back from your success.


Most of the decisions you make and say yes to are not aligned with the person you say you want to be.


So why do you keep doing it?


I’m glad you asked.


You’re out of alignment. You’re not clear on who you are or what you want, so you say yes to everything in hopes that you’ll find the answer somewhere out there.


The truth is that you do know who you are and what you want, and you’re afraid you’ll be judged for it or that you might not be good enough to get it, so you hide behind the famous “I don’t know.”


Hard truth: You WILL be judged. Be ok with it and actually learn to love it.


Awesome truth: You ARE good enough, smart enough, talented enough, and once you start believing this, you will step into the version of you that you were born to be.


Tip: Stop hiding behind “I don’t know” and go get the life you deserve and desire.


#6. Build Your Team


Surrounding yourself with a winning team is the most important thing you can do for your success. We don’t get anywhere positive in life on our own.


All winners are surrounded by other winners.


Be very selective on who you are spending time with, learn life from, and be influenced because they will either help you win or hold you back.


The best way to determine if someone should be on your team is:


#1. Do they cheer when you win?

#2. Are they there when you get knocked down?

#3 How do they make you feel? 

#4 How do you treat them? 

#5 Are they growing in life?


There are plenty more determine factors, but these five will put you on the right track.


If you take action on these six steps, 2021 will be the best year of your life.
