Stop Wasting Your Time Working Out

Stop Wasting Your Time Working Out!

I know, what fitness dude on the planet would say this out loud?

Well, if you know anything about me you know I’m not your average trainer or nutrition pro.

I don’t follow the norms, and I don’t believe the hype that 90% of the “professional trainers” are spreading.

In fact, I think most of it is BS just to get a click or like on social media…what ever that proves.

My #1 mission in life is to help people find their best self – by providing them with the knowledge necessary to make that happen.

With that said…

Here are three reasons spending hours in the gym are a waste of your time!

1. You can’t out-exercise a bad diet!
Simply put, no amount of exercise is going to help you if your nutrition is not on point. You can spend six hours a day in the gym, and it’s not going to help.

We ALL know someone that spends countless hours day after day year after year on the treadmill…And they always look the same.

It’s not because exercise isn’t good for you, it’s because when they’re not working out they’re shoveling garbage down their throat at a record pace.

Being fit is 80% Nutrition and 20% Exercise

2. Diminishing return!
After about 40 minutes of high-intensity exercise, your rate of return begins to decline. Meaning the benefit you receive from the exercise is no longer substantial.

Stay with me here, I’m going to give you some solutions to this in a minute.

3. It’s not the 90’s… There is a better way!
The old school way of training was to do one set of an exercise and then rest 2 to 3 minutes before doing another set. Not only is this BORING and time consuming, the benefits are limited.

The practice still goes on today, but it has turned to the “treadmill walkers”. I see the same ladies walking on the same treadmill at the same pace every day for hours. Guess what? Their body never changes, they haven’t lost an inch in years.

If you’re doing this, PLEASE stop!

Solution:

HIIT – High-Intensity Interval Training
If you’ve trained with me at Thrive, this needs no explanation. If you haven’t, the best way I can describe it is – constant movement using your body weight, kettlebells, dumbbells, rowers, TRX, etc… for anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes.

The results speak for themselves. Five ladies in my 5:15 am class have combined to drop over 170 pounds in the last eight months. That’s just one example. I’ve got several other 20, 30, 50-pound weight loss successes this year alone.
